Dear Mr. Kelsey

I have collected autographs for over 20 years. When I was in college I started writing to celebrities and asking them what they would tell a class of elementary school students. Over the years I have gotten over 200 letter and signed pictures to my students. I think that by these very busy people taking the time to share their thoughts with students, it shows the power of education. I hope you enjoy my collection

Astronauts in Person

In the last year I have had a couple of really unique opportunities. In July I got to spend some time with moonwalker Harrison Schmitt. He was attending a minor league baseball game to throw out the first pitch. He held a small, "press conference" before the game. I got to listen to him speak for about 45 minutes and I got to ask a couple of questions. The one below is what he would tell a class of fifth graders.

Then in September my brother called me and asked what I was doing the following weekend. I didn't have anything going so he asked if I wanted to go meet Jim Lovell from Apollo 13. Of course I said yes! He was the grand marshall of the NASCAR race at the Kansas Speedway. Again, I asked him what he would tell a class of fifth graders. His response is below also.
